UserAlertX is a service of Xpandable Technology Lab LLC. This explains what we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.
What we collect
- Email address — required for every account, used to verify you and to deliver email alerts.
- Phone number — only if you choose SMS delivery, used solely to verify your number and deliver your alerts after you provide SMS consent and reply START to the verification message.
- Alert content — the messages you or your connected bot/program send through the service, so we can deliver them.
- Billing information — handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We don't store your card details ourselves.
- Which tool sent each alert — e.g. one of our example programs, Home Assistant, or the GrokBot connector, so we can see which integrations people use and improve them. It's never used to decide how an alert is handled.
- How you found us — when you visit useralertx.com, our own site records the page you arrived on, the site that linked you here (e.g. a search engine or a post), any campaign tags on the link, and a random visitor ID kept in your browser, so we can see which links and ads bring people here. Your IP address is not stored (only a scrambled form, to tell visitors apart). This stays on our own servers — no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- Agent inbox mail — only if you make an agent inbox address (a UserToolX tool). We keep the mail sent to that address (sender, subject, date and the text; for attachments, only their names) so you and the AI assistant you connect with your API key can read it. It is never read by us except to run the service or when you ask for help, never shared with anyone else, and deleted after 30 days (or the 1 or 7 days you choose), or right away when you delete it or your inbox. If you add a webhook address, we send each new message's sender, subject, date and a short preview to that address — only where you tell us to.
- UserSummaryX requests — only if you turn on UserSummaryX (a UserToolX tool). We keep the link (or the name of the PDF), the summary we email you, the price and the date, so they show on your UserSummaryX page. The text being summarized — a video's captions or its sound turned into text, an article, a PDF or text you paste — is sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, to make the summary, and is not kept by us after your email is sent.
Your mobile number and SMS opt-in consent are never shared or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. They're used only to operate UserAlertX itself.
SMS Messaging
SMS delivery is optional. If you choose SMS delivery, you must actively consent on the UserAlertX account screen and verify control of your mobile number before alerts are delivered. Message frequency varies based on the alerts you create and trigger. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop SMS delivery, or HELP for help.
How we use it
Solely to run the service: creating and verifying your account, delivering the alerts you send, billing (via Stripe), and responding if you contact support. If you check the new tools box, we also email you now and then when a new tool comes out — email only, never by text, and every one has an unsubscribe link. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Who we share it with
Only the vendors that make the service work: Twilio (SMS delivery), our email infrastructure (email delivery), Stripe (billing), and OpenAI (the AI that makes UserSummaryX summaries, only for summaries you ask for) — each only receives what they need to perform that function. We don't share your data with anyone else, and never for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active (agent inbox mail and UserSummaryX summaries: 30 days at most). If you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we're required to keep records (e.g. billing history) for legal or accounting purposes.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop SMS delivery immediately.
- Unsubscribe from email alerts via the link in any alert email.
- Contact us to request a copy of your data or full account deletion.
Security
Your API key is shown only on your own account screen, while you're signed in, and is never emailed. We don't store payment card numbers — that's handled entirely by Stripe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date above.
